Pain, whether physical or emotional is part of the experience of life, there is no avoiding it.
Suffering this pain, however, is a choice.
What I mean here is the non-acceptance that at this moment they are experiencing something unpleasant. They try to push away, ignore or deny the discomfort and it is this aversion that causes suffering and it is this suffering that, through practices of Mindfulness and Compassion they can learn to change.

Whilst Jacqui’s style is relational and client-led, focusing on the goals and desires of the client and working at their pace, she has still been described as inspiring and dynamic, inspiring the client to challenge their old patterns and belief systems and reach for goals they previously thought impossible.
Jacqui is a regular Vipassana meditator and she has recently qualified as a teacher of Mindfulness and Compassion following an intensive 2yr program led by Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield and besides teaching Mindfulness as stand-alone courses she integrates this within her therapeutic work as a TA Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Life Coach.
She will soon be running Meditation groups and Mindfulness courses in Carmarthenshire.
She is a registered member of the EATA & UKATA and has over 19 years experience of working with people of all ages in various settings including NHS, Cancer Care, Education, Foster & Adoption. She has worked both in the UK and abroad. Because of the pandemic, she has increased her availability to work via Zoom video-conferencing and currently only works face to face in Swansea and Ammanford, Carmarthenshire.

Mindfulness is the art of not getting attached to the stories we tell ourselves. Not in a way that avoids the pain but in a way that simply observes and allows ALL experiences, positive and negative, to simply be there. When we instinctively detach from our unwanted experiences we create resistance. Suffering = Pain x Resistance. Pain, both emotional and physical is an inevitable part of human existence, but the suffering of that pain is a choice.
By learning Mindfulness as a way of living, you learn to live fully in the present moment and thereby experience life fully. This builds resilience so that when life throws a curveball you feel stronger and more able to handle it.
